Coalition of Humanity Against Oppression of Servants

Welcome To CHAOS

Coalition of Humanity Against Oppression of Servants (CHAOS), is a voluntary, Not-for-Profit grassroots conservation organization with an international appeal based in Kampala-Uganda. It was registered under the laws of Uganda in 2009 (Reg. No. 110821). It was created to fight for mother Earth and to ensure it retains the ability to nurture life in all its forms.

Welcome

One Planet, All Creatures

We emphasize the collective urgency of protection of biodiversity and all life forms on Earth and stresses and acknowledges the climate crisis as the “fight of our lives”..

We recognize the ever-expanding array of problems oppressing Humanity including those related but not limited to environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and global warming

What We Do

CHAOS while teaming up with other like-minded environmental organizations, has adapted a number of programs to enable its set goal and objectives to be achieved. The programs advocated by CHAOS are mainly:

What We Do

CLIMATE CHANGE PROGRAM

The temperatures of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans are rising fast and pushing our Planet on the edge. Climate model projections summarized in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) fourth report in 2007 indicate that global temperatures are expected to increase further between 1.1°C and 2.9°C in the future for the most optimistic scenario and between 2.4°C and 6.4°C if the emissions are higher.

THE FORESTS AND WETLANDS RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION PROGRAM

The world's forests - the lungs of the Earth and the wetlands absorb over 2.6bn tonnes of carbon dioxide every year and the wetlands in particular can store five times as much carbon as tropical forests over the long term, mostly in deep wetland soils.

BIODIVERSITY, WILDLIFE AND NATURAL HABITATS PROTECTION PROGRAMS

At creation, God bequeathed to Man a self-contained Earth where everything in nature was perfectly balanced and linked and we, the Men, were created to be the last link in all ecosystems. All life forms on the planet including Man were meant to interact with one another and the natural world around them, including forests, rivers, oceans, coastlines, and grasslands. It is this delicate balance of interactions within and between ecosystems which maintains the levels of biodiversity needed for the planet to thrive and for our very survival.

RELIEF AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE

People rely on the environment for survival. The environment provides food, energy, fire, medicine, habitats and income generating activities but unsustainable use of the natural resources leads to environmental degradation and sometimes friction that lead to conflict. Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution, burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water.

POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAMS

Daily, over two million tons of plastic, chemicals, sewage, industrial and agricultural waste products are flowing into our natural environment at an unprecedented rate- choking the air, local water sources, and our soils- these being basic elements that both people and wildlife need to survive. Plastics an equivalent of a 10-ton dump truck are released every minute into our oceans alone.

LEGAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE CAMPAIGNS

Climate change is inherently a global human rights crisis just as much as it is an ecological one, created mainly by actions of the wealthiest industrialised nations of Europe and North America - the Global North. These have led the world in building and maintaining economic development models that rely on fossil fuels- coal and petroleum to power their industrial growth, generating huge amounts of global carbon emissions.

Our Team

The team running the affairs of CHAOS is called the CHAOS Bureau. It is comprised of seven directorates headed by the Chief Executive.
